Psychological services
On this page I dive into some of the psychological services I offer in Vaud. As a counselling psychologist I am trained to help clients find their path through a wide variety of topics. These topics range from choices about careers or romance to addressing grief or transformations of identity, or finding healing from depression, anxiety.
These are some of the themes clients have come to see me about:
- Being a ‘modern man’
- Anxiety & Depression
- Skype Counselling for Humanitarian Workers and Journalists
- Addressing Grief, Loss & Bereavement
- Trauma & Stress
- Life Transitions (relationship changes, career changes, second phase of life, moving, etcetera)
- Love, Romance & Sexuality
- Issues of sexual orientation and identity
The Courage to Change
These themes affect the lives of individuals in numerous ways. For example, through shame or guilt; through feelings of desperation, loneliness and isolation; through anger; and sometimes through deep doubts about cultural or gender identity and the roles that we feel we are required to play in the communities we are part and parcel of.
For you to address these aspects of your life will take courage. And that is what I deeply admire in my clients: the awareness and willingness to commit to a process that will take time, energy, strength and trust to try and improve one’s experience of existence. It is not always easy, it is not always nice or comfortable. It is, however, most often deeply satisfying to progress on a path of personal growth.
Addressing some of the issues you face will require some level of vulnerability. And the willingness to show that vulnerability requires your courage. The fact that you are looking around on this site is in itself already a sign of that courage. You are, after all, searching for ways to continue your growth.
If the words vulnerability, shame, guilt and courage make you feel uncomfortable, it might be worth your while to watch a very knowledgeable and powerful TED Talk by Brene Brown (opens in a new window).
If you plan on being anything less than you are capable of being, you will probably be unhappy all the days of your life.
