About the Book

Spots of a Leopard was born out of years of listening. In Kenya, and across Africa, Aernout Zevenbergen met men who spoke with raw honesty about love, loss, fatherhood, friendship, and the strength it takes to endure.
From truckers to bikers, warriors to widowers, paupers to presidents — each voice added another thread to the fabric of masculinity in a changing world. Their stories opened doors to questions rarely asked, and truths often left unspoken.
The book is both reportage and reflection. It records encounters, but also the author’s own doubts and search for meaning. In the courage of others, he found the courage to grow up himself.
