What you’ll explore

“The body is the first place we feel emotion.” — Peter Levine
Long before a feeling is put into words, it shows up in the nervous system: a racing heart, shallow breath, or tension in the gut. Modern neuroscience confirms what somatic practice has long observed — that these signals are the gateways into our emotional life.
In this workshop you’ll learn how to:
- recognise body signals before they escalate into overwhelm
- map sensations to underlying emotional states
- use simple, grounded practices to regulate the nervous system
- stay present and curious, even when emotions feel raw
We’ll work with practical tools drawn from somatic experiencing, attachment science, and nervous-system research — not just theory but embodied exercises you can take into daily life.
Who it’s for
This workshop is for anyone who wants to understand their emotions not just in the abstract, but in the living signals of the body. It’s for people who notice themselves shutting down under stress, or who struggle with emotions that feel bigger than they can handle.
It’s for those curious about how the nervous system shapes everyday life — and who want practical, usable ways to find steadiness when things get intense. Whether you come with a history of overwhelm, or simply a wish to be more at ease in your own skin, this workshop offers a grounded path into awareness and regulation.
